According to www.rebates.com/florida, there is an approximation of 66K Floridians that will receive a 20% rebate of the purchase price of new Energy Star appliance. This is to replace the old energy-inefficient appliance. This rebate applies only to appliance purchased for residential use only.

With the launch of the Florida ENERGY STAR® Appliance Rebate Program, approximately 66,000 Floridians will be able to receive a rebate for 20 percent of the purchase price of new ENERGY STAR® appliance(s) to replace their old energy-inefficient appliance(s) – as long as the purchased appliance is for residential use. The new ENERGY STAR appliance must be purchased from a Florida retailer between April 16 and April 25, 2010. No Internet purchases are accepted. Please follow the Step-By-Step Directions for applying for the rebate.
This program was funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and is designed to stimulate Florida’s economy by encouraging consumers to purchase new ENERGY STAR® appliances. Purchasing new appliances will help create jobs for appliance manufacturers and retail stores. The program also encourages consumers to save energy, water, and to lower their monthly bills through the use of a more efficient appliance. Rebates apply only to the purchase of the appliance and not to delivery or installation costs.
